4SG glass, whose full name is the Ködispace 4SG insulating glass system, is a warm-edge sealant used for insulating glass. It replaces traditional glass sealing systems and is applied in the field of system doors and windows. Its main advantages include:
Long lifespan: 4SG glass comes with an ultra-long warranty of 25 years; it has passed tests equivalent to 5 cycles, with each cycle representing 10 years under moderate conditions, translating to a service life of 50 years. The 4SG Wide-View Super Glass forms a long-lasting sealed unit, maintaining argon gas content above 80% after 25 years of use. In contrast, traditional insulating glass typically lasts about 10-15 years.
Energy efficiency and environmental protection: 4SG glass reduces heat radiation while maintaining a light transmittance of over 80%. The insulating cavity is filled with more than 95% argon gas to minimize heat convection. The 4SG flexible warm-edge spacer bars block heat conduction, reducing energy loss and achieving excellent thermal insulation.
Noise reduction: When sound waves penetrate the glass, the presence of the glass medium creates reverse sound waves. Varying cavity widths enhance these reverse sound waves to achieve noise reduction. Filling the cavity with argon gas also improves sound insulation.
Thermal insulation: 4SG glass has superior thermal insulation performance. When temperature differences exist indoors and outdoors, 4SG glass minimizes the cold draught effect. Its insulating property is demonstrated by the use of non-metallic 4SG material, which effectively blocks heat conduction between the indoor and outdoor sides of the glass compared to traditional metal spacers. 4SG glass also exhibits a warm-edge effect, effectively reducing indoor condensation and frosting phenomena, even in northern regions.
